Ceramics

Ceramics, especially objects from Upsala-Ekeby, form a large part of the collection. There are some 1,300 pieces, consisting of the more artistically oriented output from the earthenware Upsala-Ekeby factory.

In the 1940s to 1970s, Upsala-Ekeby produced ceramic goods that have come to epitomise the Swedish modern welfare state, including vases, bowls, flower pots and animal figurines. Today, objects from Upsala-Ekeby are highly appreciated by new generations as design treasures.

The Konstmuseum has some 1,300 objects, many of which were made by the company’s leading artists, three of whom were Anna-Lisa Thomson, Ingrid Atterberg and Vicke Lindstrand.
