Guided tour with picnic

Join a guided tour of Uppsala Art Museum and end with a picnic. Every day at 3 pm, all summer long.

Start with an exciting tour of the museum's collections or temporary exhibitions and end with a picnic in the castle park or in the Museum Bar & Café.

You can choose between several different themes.

Behold the Man

On this occasion, you will see and hear about the museum's collections shown in the theme exhibition " Behold the Man". You get to know more about, for example, the Uppsala artist Ulla Fries' print "The Philosopher" and Cajsa von Zeipel's sculpture "A girl is a Gun".

The tour is in English and takes about 30 minutes.

A modern era

On this occasion, you will see and hear about the museum's collections displayed in the theme exhibition " A Modern Era". These are, for example, paintings by Bruno Liljefors, Maj Bring and Agnes Cleve. We also look at the French art brut artist Anselme Boix-Vives.

The tour is in English and takes about 30 minutes.

Site and landscape

On this occasion, you will see and hear about the museum's collections displayed in the theme exhibition "Site and Landscape". It is, for example, the large sculpture "Canon" by Peter Johansson, but also paintings by Roger Metto, Susanne Johansson and Anna-Karin Brus.

The tour is in English and takes about 30 minutes.

Ingrid Skerfe-Nilsson in meeting with the contemporary

On this occasion, you will see and hear about the museum's exhibition ”Ingrid Skerfe-Nilsson in a meeting with the contemporary”. With Ingrid Skerfe-Nilsson's colorful rya rugs as a starting point, you get to learn more about her art and work. We also look at works by the three of our time's most interesting textile artists - Malin Bobeck Tadaa, Lea Constan and Maja Michaelsdotter Eriksson.

The tour is in English and takes about 45 minutes.

Resonating Bodies

On this occasion, you will see and hear about the museum's outdoor sculpture exhibition “Resonating Bodies”. The exhibition takes place around the castle park and the works are inspired by both the place and the creatures that are here.

The tour is in English and takes about 30 minutes.

Picnic bag

Then you pick up a picnic bag in the Museum Bar & Café. The picnic bag consists of an optional salad, bread, butter and drink, coffee/tea and any cake. Do you have any allergies or requests for special diets. Enter it in connection with booking and you will be served an alternative.

Salad and cake you choose on site in Museum Bar & Café.

Salads

  • glass noodle salad with marinated vegme, fried tofu and mango chutney dressing
  • geta cheese salad, roasted Mediterranean vegetables and quinoa
    shrimp salad with avocado and sugar peas
  • oht smoked salmon salad potato salad, sugar peas, tomato and horseradish dressing
  • chicken salad with baby mozzarella and mango chutney dressing
  • ceasar salad with chicken, classic Caesar dressing and vegetables.

Practical information

Gathering in the Museum entrance at 15.00. Museum Bar & Café is open until 16.30.
